Diabetes is a disease that involves problem-related hormone of insulin. Actually, the pancreas is responsible for the production of insulin. It will then help your body to store, to use the sugar and fat from the food that you consume. Diabetes can be caused by the little production of the pancreas or little insulin, or the state when the body does not respond appropriately to insulin.
Another known term for diabetes is “Diabetes mellitus”. It is a term referred to and commonly known as diabetes. It is a group of metabolic disorders that are characterized by a high blood sugar level for a long period of time. Its sign and Symptoms include; unusual and frequent urination, increased thirst and hunger.
Types of Diabetes:
Its types are as follows. Here they are:
Type 1 Diabetes
Type 1 diabetes occurs when the beta cells that are makers of insulin has been destroyed by the immune system in your body. Another condition is known as secondary diabetes. The difference in this is that the immune system did not destroy the Beta cells but may wipe out or vanish them by injuring or finished by a disease. The lake of insulin may cease the Glucose removal. This will lead to high blood sugar, that can cause the following:
When the body has not enough amount of glucose for fuel than it will break down the fat cells. Then a chemical called ketones have been developed. The liver releases the sugar that can help to store it. But this is can not be done without insulin. So, it just stayed in the blood along with the Acidic ketones. This is known as “ketoacidosis” and very much life-threatening.
When the amount of glucose and calories that goes out with your pee. That’s the main reason why many people with high blood sugar lose their weight.

Prevalence of Type 1 Diabetes
This disease is quite a rarity in its nature. Only 5% of people have this. Its occurrence is more common in whites as compared to African-Americans. Its occurrence is the same for both the genders. Its starting age may be under 20 but can be started at any age. Diabetes Statistics include the numerical values related to its prevalence among the human beings. Its ratio, proportional average and all that.
Causes Type 1 Diabetes
There are not to the point facts related to type 1 diabetes. But they do know your genes play a role. They also know type 1 diabetes can result when something in the environment, like a virus, tells your immune system to go after your pancreas. Most people with type 1 diabetes have signs of this attack, called autoantibodies. They’re present in almost everyone who has the condition when their blood sugar is high. Type 1 diabetes can happen along with other autoimmune diseases, like Grave’s disease or vitiligo.
Diabetes Type 1 Symptoms
The sign and symptoms include the following.

- Increased hunger
- Dry mouth feeling
- Nausea and vomiting

- Feel Fatigued
- Blare vision
- Heavy breathing or Kussmaul respiration
- Frequent skin, urinary and vaginal infections
Diabetes Type 2
It is a pervasive disorder it means that it is for the rest of the life. it affects the glucose management in the blood of the body. In this type, the insulin is not used by the cells in the body.
Diabetes Type 2 Prevalence
Most of the people have the type 2 diabetes. In the U.S. about 27 million people with it. And according to a study, 86 million are having prediabetes.
Diabetes Type 2 Causes
The pancreas in the body makes insulin. It than provide glucose to the body. In this type of diabetes, the insulin is not used by the cells. this is known as “Insulin Resistance”.
The pancreas makes extra insulin to get glucose but they can not make it up. So, the sugar stayed in the blood. The following are the things that are contributing to the cause of this disease.
Overweight and obesity can cause insulin resistance. It may also found in adults, teens, and children due to obesity.
Insulin resistance may also lead to extra fat, high blood pressure, high, and triglycerides.
Extra Amount of Glucose: liver makes the extra amount of sugar if there is no insulin found in the body. But after it is not used to the liver functioning slows down.
Bad communication among cells: Cells communication is disturbed and they cannot receive or send the proper message to the other cells.
Damaged Beta Cells: The right amount of insulin is required in the right place. But when the cells are damaged and broken than this connection s broken and thus it will damage the rest of the cells.
Following are the risk factors that are related to daily habits and lifestyle.
- Taking no exercise
- Lack or Increase in Sleep
- Diabetes Symptoms
- Its symptoms are very common that is not noticeable.
- Be very thirsty
- Peeing frequent
- Blare vision
- Remains irritable
- Tingling or numbness in hands or feet
- Feels worn out
- Unhealed Wounds
- Frequent Yeast infections
Several are the tests that are conducted to diagnose diabetes.
AIC: This test measures the percentage of Glycated sugar that is found in the Hemoglobin. Its higher amount may cause diabetes.
Fasting plasma glucose: This test is conducted of a starved condition of 8 hours. It is conducted on an empty stomach.
Oral glucose tolerance test OGTT: This test is conducted after drinking a sweet drink to testify that how the body handles this sugar and how to process it.
This disorder is related to metabolism. Its treatment is managed by keeping this point in mind. Here are some treatments for it.
- Insulin Treatment
- Non-Insulin Diabetes Injectables
- Oral Medications for Diabetes
- Check your blood sugar
- Healthy Eating
- Diabetes Food Chart
